The surf skate program is great and has helped me make a huge improvement on my surfing technique. It has also helped me to get my partner and kids on to a surf-skate and immediately get them going and thinking about how they need to position themselves. Bought this in December. Due to lockdown I’ve only been surfing a handful of times since then. My surfing has improved in the last 5 months about as much as it did in the last 2 years. It’s just such simple things that make the difference: coffee cup, front on, TLC. But without this programme I would never have been able to understand these terms and I highly doubt that my surfing would have improved. I would say I was a beginner/intermediate when I bought this (trying to get my first cutbacks in and learning to pump) and I had never skated before. I would now say I’m getting to grips with pumping and turning on the wave face and am definitely very confident on my surf skate. Lots of other cool tips in there too and in all honesty I’ve had so much fun just skating round the place. Also great for just getting those movement patterns ingrained in to the noggin.

I am 40 years old, I also had miniscus tear injury last October 2019 and I was very lucky enough that it was in the redzone area of the miniscus which it will heal itself. I been surfing for almost 15 years transcending from longboard to shortboard but I felt like there is really missing link in my performance, for this Surf Athlete, surfskate, perfect pop-up and mostly the cardboard surfboard does really unleash my full potential to accelerate where I left my skills at, and it really help me getting back and to progress more the way I surf before. I’m now training my pop-up on a dedicated pop-up mattress (popupmatic) trying to find the best combination of pop-up and stand-up and trying to move more vertical on the bowl with my smoothstar (Johanne Defay). Both programs helped me a lot. Thanks Chris (and Clayton)! Phil

The surf skate program was really good! I loved the concepts and the drill section. Still need to consciously continue the movements to break old bad habits, but these drills are a great start.

I’m 40 years old and had literally never set foot on a skateboard until I got the surf skate program,I was able to pick it up quite quickly because everything is explained so well in the program,what I practiced on land immediately transferred into the water,Worth every cent!!!yeeeeew!!!

To be honest, I haven’t really followed the program more just watched the videos (though I aim to follow it all eventually sometime hopefully).
That said, it’s good! In all honesty, from just watching the theory and mindsurfing with it in mind I have noticed an improvement in my surfing (which I’m sure would be much greater if I actually followed the program).
Highly recommend. Chris will also answer questions if anything is unclear (usually in depth) and is very near nice to everyone!

Hi Chris,
Both my son and I went through the surfskate program. I found surfing later than most at around 40, so the only negative for me is that I wish I had known this then as opposed to now. The key for me is that the methodology and reasoning behind the various techniques and drills is explained well and really makes sense which gives you confidence.
So while my skate style is still better than my actual surfing, it seems you can teach an old dog new tricks, it just takes more time and perseverance
